Jing will capture images of anything on your desktop or record video of what you do or see on your screen.

Screen capture software is handy for self publishing tutorial articles and eBooks that you sell or give away.

Jing is 100% Free and is available for Apple Mac and Windows operating systems.

The only downside I have found with Jing is that it seems to be very resource heavy which means that it slows my machine down. (probably just my machine)

I now use another screen capture software (also from Techsmith) called SnagIt which has many more features than Jing and does not seem to be so resource heavy.

NVU is available for Windows and Mac machines and can be used for self publishing homepages or complete web sites.

The WYSIWYG user interface allows you to create web pages without any knowledge of HTML programming which means you can design your own web site much quicker than learning to hand-code.

NVU installs on your computer which is where you will create and save all your web pages.

After your web pages have been created and saved, you will need to upload the web pages to your web site hosting account by using the built-in FTP program, a seperate FTP program, or by using the file manager from your web hosting control panel.
